Arrest Made in Juvenile Sexual Assault Case

The Bay County Sheriff’s Office received a complaint yesterday from a family member reporting the sexual assault of a juvenile. An arrest has been made in the case.

The juvenile stated the incident happened at the home of Edward Reese, at 710 Water Oak on Panama City Beach. She and her boyfriend went to Reese’s home on February 19th at about 1 AM after her father kicked her boyfriend out of their home. According to the juvenile, all three of them drank alcohol together that Reese provided. The victim and her boyfriend asked if they could have sex while at Reese’s home and he told them yes, but only on the condition he be allowed to watch or participate.

The victim stated she and her boyfriend had sex in one of the rooms in the home. The victim stated she was unaware that Reese was in the room watching them, but her boyfriend later told her. The victim fell asleep in the home and learned later her boyfriend left to go home. The victim awoke to Reese on top of her. She then went home and reported to a family member what had happened. The family member took her to the hospital.


BCSO Criminal Investigators spoke with Reese several times. He admitted to the sexual encounter while the victim was “half asleep”. Edward Reese, age 29, was arrested and charged with Sexual Battery on a Person that is Helpless, Promotion of the Sexual Performance of a Child, and Lewd and Lascivious Exhibition.
