Two Arrested and 23 Pounds of Marijuana Seized

Tips received by the Bay County Sheriff’s Office have resulted in the arrest of two local men and the seizure of 23 pounds of marijuana and $16,000 in cash.

The Bay County Sheriff's Office Special Investigations Division began an investigation into drug activity at a residence off East Ave in Panama City after receiving information.

On January 24th, 2019, investigators went to the home and spoke with the residents. Probable cause to get a search warrant for the home was developed.  During the search, investigators found approximately 23 pounds of marijuana, numerous containers of THC resin, a small amount of cocaine, and approximately $16,000 in US currency. 

A resident of the home, Patrick K. Jones, was arrested on scene.  Jones, age 23, of 4535 County Road 389, Panama City, is currently on State of Florida Drug Offender Probation for previous drug charges.  He now faces charges of Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute, Possession of Cocaine, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Violation of Probation. Also arrested was Cameron Hobson, age 23, of 2203 Crooked Oak Court. He was charged with Possession of Marijuana with Intent, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. 




The investigation continues and future arrests are expected in this case.
