Local Man Arrested for Disrupting Radio System

The Bay County Sheriff's Office announced today the arrest on January 4, 2019, of a local man believed responsible for interrupting the radio system of several local law enforcement agencies without authorization or permission.



Cody Blaine Jones, age 21, of 2304 Mary Ann Drive, Southport, was arrested for multiple counts of Disruption of Law Enforcement Network, Unauthorized Interference of Governmental Radio Frequencies, Unauthorized Reception of Communications, Impersonating an Officer, Depriving an Officer of Communications, Unlawful Use of a Two-Way Communications Device, Carrying a Concealed Firearm, Resisting an Officer Without Violence, and Violation of Probation.

During transmissions on radio systems, Jones impersonated officers with those respective agencies in an attempt to obtain classified information. He also initiated unwarranted emergency situations and placed the responding officers in dangerous situations.



Jessica Ann Marie Davis, age 26, of 5127 Lee Drive, Callaway, was also arrested in connection with the investigation and charged with Accessory After the Fact to Disruption of a Law Enforcement Network, Accessory After the Fact to Unauthorized Reception of Communications, Accessory After the Fact to Impersonating an Officer, and Perjury.

Jones and Davis were taken to the Bay County Jail.
