Dear Applicant,

The Bay County Sheriff's Office is pleased that you are interested in employment with us.  Please note that to apply for a Deputy Sheriff position you MUST have your Florida Law Enforcement certification.  If you are not certified, you may call Gulf Coast Community College at (850) 769-1551, Ext. 5613 to find out what it takes to be certified.

Chipola Junior College in Marianna, Florida (850) 718-2286 and various community colleges in Florida also offer the courses.  Should you need any further information, please feel free to contact our office at (850) 747-4701, Ext. 2203.

If you have been a law enforcement officer in another state for at least one year or while in the military, you may be eligible for a two week course.  Call Mike Dwyer at Gulf Coast Community College, (850) 769-1551, Ext. 5608 for more information.
