April 24, 2007 Ruth Sasser, PAS For Immediate Release 747-4700, ext. 2117 Domestic Security Exercise Planned April 25th in Bay County The Northwest Florida Regional Domestic Security Task Force (NWFRDSTF) will hold a full scale exercise on Wednesday, April 25, 2007, in Panama City, Florida. The purpose of the exercise is to allow participants to continue to refine coordination and improve response of domestic security assets should any county in the Northwest Florida area have a need beyond their normal ability to respond. During this exercise, participants will respond to a mock incident through a combination of real-time role play and simulated response. The West Florida Regional Planning Counsel (WFRPC) has been instrumental in the planning and orchestration of this exercise. The members of the NWFRDSTF come from agencies dealing with health, education, fire, law enforcement, emergency first response, as well as key members of the private sector. Members of the media are invited to join the Public Information Officers participating in the full scale exercise from 9:00 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Mobile Joint Information Center (JIC). The JIC will be located along an access road at the south western end of Gulf Coast Community College campus. The community should be reminded not to be alarmed if they see large numbers of emergency vehicles and personnel, as this is all part of the exercise. Prepared by R. Sasser Information by K.
