April 20, 2007 Ruth Sasser, PAS For Immediate Release 747-4700, ext. 2117 Do You Know This Man? Investigators with the Bay County Sheriffs Office have been able to compile a drawing of a man they believe stole the purse of an elderly woman on Saturday, April 14, 2007, as she was placing groceries in her car in the parking lot of Winn Dixie located on the west end of Panama City Beach. Witnesses to the event were able to describe the suspect and the vehicle he drove. The vehicle is believed to be a newer model Dodge Durango, maroon or burgundy in color, with Alabama tags, unknown number. The suspect has been described as 5'8",160 pounds, about 30 years of age. The suspect stopped his vehicle near the victim, asking if he could use a pen. When she reached for her purse, he grabbed for it. The victim, an elderly woman, was thrown to the concrete parking lot as her purse was snatched and suffered critical injuries. She has been released from a local hospital and is now home.
