April 12, 2007 Ruth Sasser, PAS For Immediate Release 747-4700, ext. 2117 More Charges for Joe Frances The Bay County Sheriffs Office Special Investigations Division obtained several felony warrants on Joseph Raymond Francis for introducing contraband into a jail facility. Investigators responded to the Bay County Jail (CCA) at the request of jail supervisors. Investigators learned that Joe Francis tried to bribe a corrections officer with US currency. The fact that Francis could possibly have cash in his possession initiated a search of his cell and person. CCA personnel did locate an amount of cash on Joe Francis which is in violation of Florida State Statute 951.22. A further search of Joe Francis cell revealed several controlled pills along with a legend drug. Investigators have signed felony warrants for the arrest of Joe Frances on charges of Introduction of Contraband into a County Detention Facility/ US Currency; Introduction of Contraband into a County Detention Facility/ Legend Drug; Introduction of Contraband into a County Detention Facility/Alprazazolam; Introduction of Contraband into a County Detention Facility/ Lunesta; Introduction of Contraband into a County Detention Facility/Lorazepam; Possession of a Controlled Substance-Alprazazolam; Possession of a Controlled Substance-Lorazepam; Possession of a Controlled Substance-Lunesta; and Bribery of a Public Servant.
