Joint Investigation Nets Arrest On Child Porn

A joint investigation between the Bay County Sheriffs Office and the Florida Department of Law Enforcements Computer Crimes Center has resulted in the arrest of Frederick Jamal Madison, DOB 9/26/78, of 326 James Street, Callaway, on charges of Possession of the Sexual Performance of a Child and Promoting the Sexual Performance of a Child.

In September, 2006, FDLEs Computer Crimes Center initiated an undercover investigation into the sexual exploitation of children on the internet. Agents were able to obtain a search warrant for Madisons residence on James Street in Callaway.

On November 8, 2006, the search warrant was served at the residence by FDLE and the Bay County Sheriffs Office. Numerous items were seized. A computer that was seized was analyzed forensically by FDLEs computer evidence recovery section, and child pornography was discovered on the computer.

On April 12, 2007, Madison was taken into custody and booked into the Bay County Jail where he is awaiting first appearance.

FDLE and the Bay County Sheriffs Office are part of the North Florida Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, which is a federally funded effort between federal, state, and local law enforcement, to combat the online sexual exploitation of children. This case is yet another example of how powerful multi-agency partnerships are to effectively combat this ever growing problem.

Any questions on this case should be addressed to Special Agent Supervisor Mike Phillips, Computer Crimes Center, the Tallahassee Office of the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.
