                                                                Waffle Shop Employee Arrested

Criminal Investigators with the Bay County Sheriffs Office have charged Sherman W. Gee, DOB 7/7/61, a transient, this afternoon for the overnight burglary of the Waffle Shop on 23rd Street near the Jenks Avenue intersection.

The Waffle Shop was burglarized around 1 am and money was taken from a locked office within the restaurant. A key to the business was found discarded inside the restaurant and there was no evidence of forced entry, leading investigators to believe an employee might have been responsible. When Gee did not show up for his regular shift, investigators began looking for him.

Information was received that Gee was hitchhiking up Hwy 231 and a patrol deputy made contact with him near the Mill Bayou bridge. After speaking with Gee, he was taken into custody and charged with Burglary of a Structure and Grand Theft.
